Silent Tears

Written by Rachel Koomen

Everything is black

There’s no way back

the verdict just been told

You’re not getting old

In silence sitting in the chair

repeating thoughts don’t stop

It’s not fair. It’s not fair

I hear the ticking of the clock….

What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger

that’s what they say,

but when you’re not getting older and time it is you want to delay

cause you want to stay

I hear the ticking off the clock pounding in my head

and suddenly I realize

I have to redefine time

Because the ticking is mine!

Nobody knows when it’s time for us to go

Nobody knows the moment to let go

nobody knows.

So, every day.

The world is upside down

Another day

to fight, survive, to live, and pray

But I have to stay strong and carry on, even though it feels wrong.

hear the ticking off the clock pounding in my head

and suddenly I realize

I have to redefine time

Because the ticking is mine!

Life goes on without no doubt

Your flame will burn forever

So wonderful to think of

 so hard to be without

Silent tears

Have no fear

I’m still here

Nobody knows when it’s time for us to go

Nobody knows the moment to let go

nobody knows.

So, every day….

Is a new goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye
